Bullring bloggers getting impatient

Roy the Boy from Yalleroi recently received lyrics entitled Bullring Music Blues (facsimile reproduced below) from someone who would appear to be a regular reader of the Bullring Blog, and, like so many of you, is waiting anxiously for the release of the greatly anticipated and eagerly awaited forthcoming CD and book to the CD and inexpensive but essential merchandising...

As best as Roy the Boy can tell, the missive was surreptitiously placed in Roy the Boy's jacket pocket though Roy is unclear on when or how this occurred. It was in his reefer jacket so could have been slipped into the pocket while on a humanitarian trip to the poorer countries in deep Africa, or just before boarding his yacht (when he was swarmed with fans) before sailing to victory (again) in the monthly Saturday Afternoon Gentlemen Sailing (SAGS) open invitational regatta.

Roy the Boy said no name was supplied with this missive but it was from a...and I am now quoting Roy the Boy from Yalleroi: "Fellow Artist Raising Kinda Impatient Expectations" regarding the release of the aforementioned products. So to abbreviate Roy's description of the author I will just use the acronym FARKIE.. What this FARKIE (gender unknown) does not realise nor appreciate nor fully understand is that good things take time, and Rome was not built in a day.

Bullring Music Blues

Alone in his lounge-room Roy was still strumming

Cohort the Bullringer was writing songs, quietly humming

But Roy was restless, he yearned for yesterday

Of a thousand adoring fans, some making a play

Now Roy hatched a plan, to the Bullringer he told

An ambitious project, and oh so clever and bold

The reply from the Bullringer, he never hesitated

“Let’s make” a long awaited and eagerly anticipated – CD

“Extra, Extra” read all about it

The Longreach Leader was the first to shout it

The Central West muso’s once so admired

Were now far and wide and long since retired

When Roy tracked them down, and “yes” they all said

Well, not quite all, Butch shook his head

And so the foundations were now laid and created

For the long awaited and eagerly anticipated – CD

“Bullring Music’s on the net” Roy and Bullringer declared

For fans worldwide we are now there to be shared

So let’s all go down memory lane once more

With competitions, and quizzes and prizes galore

Enter your thoughts and have the time of your life

An excited first prizewinner was Colonel Bogey’s wife

It seems the whole world has now become so elated

About the long awaited and eagerly anticipated – CD

The launch with great fanfare and with much aplomb

To rattle the spirits of Budgie, Rosie and Tom

T’was to be up on the Radio Theatre stage

No doubt a video clip to be filmed for Rage

Oh! One more cuddle in the old canvas seat

Chuck jaffas, clap hands, scream and tap our feet

The guitars and drums echoing from tin walls corrugated

“It’s live” the long awaited and eagerly anticipated – CD

Geschie’s shop was to sell the cd’s as retail

And for those buying online, get delivery by mail

Excitement was high, it will become yesteryear

As Central West fans dig out their retro-gear

Forget Sherbert, TMG and the rest

Oh once again we can listen to Central West’s best

The following quickly grew, it went unabated

For the long awaited and eagerly anticipated – CD

As years went by, the fans began to show their emotion

After all this time, they did again show their devotion

But now all the fans are being reduced to tears

As they seem to accept all their worst fears

The return to glory of Roy and the Bullringer

Was sure to be this century’s greatest humdinger

With hearts broken, disillusion grew and interest stagnated
