I reckon it is “Manic Depression”. It looks like Norm Fraser in the middle and Peter Fisher on the right. You can’t see the drummer very clearly, so I don’t know who that is.
I think the venue is either Longreach Civic Centre or the Shire Hall in Aramac. It is not Barky – too much brickwork. Peter Fisher used to have a combie van with “Manic Depression” written on the sides.
There were a couple of other bands from Barky like “The Rubber Band”, “The Ides of March” and “December Sun”, but as far as I can remember “Manic Depression” is the only one that Peter Fisher was in – I could be wrong.

A few thoughs!
The venue is definately the Aramac Shire Hall, I don't recognise anyone in the band and I think the photo was taken somewhere around 1977 to 1980. The guy in the centre of the photo is Graham Tamblyn, formally from the property called "Lake Dunn" at Aramac; not to be mistaken for the recreation lake called "The Lake". The girl to his left in the white outfit is one of the Hanney girls, I think Rae Hanney, and I can't work out who Graham is dancing with! Graham now lives in Rocky, since about 1986 I think, and he married Kerri-Anne Dickson from Aramac.
I can't recall any of the band names you mention.

John, You didn't make any mention of the fellow "going mad" behind Graham Tamblyn. Who is this Man?
