Bullring Photo Challenge 2

Have a go at this week's photo contest Bullringers, and remember you can send your answers to Dear Bullring instead of using the comments box if you wish - especially if you don't want to give any clues away. There are 9 questions in total to be answered, and Roy the Boy and Bullringer reckon the chances of anyone getting all 9 right are so remote that we will be giving a voucher for a FREE BULLRING CD to anyone who can do it! GOOD LUCK!

1. How is your eye for detail? What is written on this piece of iron? (HINT: Click on photo to enlarge.)

2. What iconic Central West store is this, and where is it located?

3. This street is in which town?

4. Name the 2 people, the premises, and the brand of soft drink.

5. On what road was this photo taken?

The first photo I believe says Culli Gang No Passn.

Second photo is somewhere in the main street of Blackall not sure of the shops name.

Third photo I would say is Blackall.

Fourth photo is in the Blue Danube cafe opposite Ogdens Pub but have no idea of the patrons or drink.

The last photo of the sunset could be from anywhere out on a flat with one power pole!!!! which makes it open slather.

Cheers!

Good effort Jo and you got some parts right. Western Marlafonte is a bit of a hint, as is the English actor who starred as Breaker Morant. Also if you think of a road that heads north.

you are very close with the first photo - perhaps one of the labels will help a bit.

Best Wishes

Hi Roy,
These are my responses today -- with a little help from a friend who wishes to remain anonymous. :)

1. "Gully Gang HQ Base".

2." The lettering on this building looks Greek – so take a punt and say The Astoria CafĂ© (an often mentioned place on the blog) – Oak Street Barcaldine."

3. "I have no idea of the town in the third one, except the bloggers are always on about Tambo, so I reckon Tambo would be a good guess." I agree , Tambo.

4. "These two also look suspiciously like members of The December Sunn in a previous photo – I reckon they are Norm Fraser and Tony Mansfield. Maybe it is The Globe Hotel and I suppose they could be drinking Fanta ???!!!??? or anything else for that matter – your guess is as good as mine.". I'll agree - names [above], location[Globe] & drink is Fanta?

5. If it is a sunset out of Barcaldine – it has to be the Longreach Road. However in light of your hints above, it was probably taken on the road to Aramac?

Cheerio

MitME - guesses
1. GULLY GANG BASE HQ (a giver!)
2. Could it be an old pic of Meachams Hardware Store ??
3. Maybe near the Hospital in Yalleroi
4. Could be some of December Sunn members OR some of there huge Roadie contingent - just getting some calories "on board" ready for another big gig in Aramac or Yalleroi - I'd reckon
5. Definately a sunset pic taken from near the Lagoon creek crossing on the Aramac road (I recognise one othe trees!!)
Cheers
MitME :)
